With over 80 restaurant brands participating in the fifth edition of Hot ‘N Hungry, customers can expect a lot of jaw-dropping offers, huge discounts and exclusive bundles in April. Customers can enjoy 100 deals from wide array of restaurant partners such as Yoshinoya, KHP Dabaw Kitchen, Dencio’s Kamayan, Sunday’s Modern Home Cooking and many more with up to 20% off. 

The fifth edition of the food discount event is a prelude of what foodpanda users can expect on their fifth year anniversary next month, more deals and discounts.

Signature Dishes Introduced by Marco Polo Davao

Marco Polo Davao is introducing new signature dishes for Café Marco, Polo Bolo Bistro and Lotus Court.

“We are delighted to unveil Marco Polo Davao’s signature dishes for our three restaurants as we continue to be a destination for culinary adventure” said Executive Chef Alex Destriza.

Café Marco, the hotel’s all-day Western, Filipino and Asian dining, introduces Gambas al Ajillo as its new signature dish which will be served its buffet spread. Gambas al Ajillo, a popular Spanish prawn dish, is served with baby prawn, Italian chorizo, olive oi, garlic, chili, paprika powder and dried chili finger.

The chili fingers on this dish gives it a kick of spiciness that lingers as you enjoy this dish. To be honest, I can’t help but take more of their serving. Since Cafe Marco is a buffet style resto of the hotel, might as well enjoy your unli gambas in the city!

Lotus Court, the most celebrated Cantonese Restaurant in town, will take you to another level of oriental gastronomic experience as it introduces its signature item the Dimsum Trio – Spinach Dumpling, Xiao Long Bao and Century Egg Siomai. Family and friends can share this signature item for Php 500.00.

The spinach dumpling was a popular pick among our table. I think all three were almost equally flavorful with a distinct taste of their own. The xiao long bao is one of the best I’ve tried here in the city.

Marco Polo Davao’s outdoor restaurant Polo Bistro introduces Baby Back Ribs as its signature item.

This mouthwatering dish is served with truffle mushed, pomelo salad, buttered French beans and sweet potato chips, and can be shared for Php 610.00.

Marco Polo Davao has been considered as the hub of gastronomic journeys in the city, as its culinary team has continued to showcase the various local and international cuisines.

Cacao Pairing with Wit’s Sweets & Savouries at Cacao City at the Pasalubong Center located in Palma Gil Street here in Davao City last April 10, 2018 was really a fun and interesting experience of sweet and savory tastes. I would recommend it for you to have an experience of your own when in Davao City. If this plan of Ms. Lizabel “Wit” G. Holganza pushes through, this will be part of your cacao tour while in Davao. Plus a visit to a cacao farm or their family farm which has been for three generations cultivating four varieties of cacao on the two-hectare farm. Then cap it off after with a nice cacao pairing experience just similar to the one they experienced in Hawaii, right at Cacao City!

During our cacao pairing experience, thanks to mommy Ces’ invite, mommy bloggers and friends were joined by Ms. Jennifer Joy Subang along with Ms. Wit who guided us through the learning  and fun experience.

First pairing was mango and cacao nibs.

I have to really be honest that while this was intentionally a cacao pairing, with this first one, I had to say that the cacao nibs used was great when eaten delectably all on its own.

I do love the perfectly sweet mango. I still really enjoyed eating the cacao nibs on its own. Followed next by the sweet mango. Yes, I am a sweet mango lover! *wink*  Yet since this was to be paired, the sweet Philippine mango and delectably flavorful, plus not to forget healthy cacao nibs, was a fairly good pairing.

Second pairing was the salad greens with zesty granola.

This is one healthy way of incorporating the delicious granola into a simple and easy to make healthy salad mix.

Fourth pairing, Cacao dark choco nibs and beer.

I enjoyed the cacao nibs as with the rest of the pairing. Though I am not a beer drinker. I took a sip and I will stick to the delicious cacao nibs eaten on its own. If you drink beer, then this will be a unique and interesting pairing to taste.

Fifth pairing was with Cacao Tea and they used the one from Cacao Culture Farms.
