Sooo Pinoy Food Trip na Pilipinas in Davao City at Probinsya Buffet Restaurant
The second day of the Sooo Pinoy food trip in Davao City started off at Probinsya Buffet Restaurant which is actually a personal fave of mine as well as of my boys when it comes to Filipino buffet restaurant which is known in the city for serving affordable Filipino breakfast buffet.
I have been looking forward to this visit to the resto as part of the “eatinerary” as some would call it. This resto is a fave when it comes to buffet breakfast.
They served us their delicious assorted kakanin or Filipino native delicacies like the cassava rolls with macapuno (I am a huge fan now of macapuno, a fave of mine… yummy!) and the palitaw with grated coconut and sugar.
Also puto cheese (rice cake made from galapong or rice flour topped with cheese) which is one of Filipinos’ fave for merienda or snacks, and the suman which is a popular Filipino dessert or merienda too made of glutinous or sticky rice cooked in coconut milk and wrapped in banana leaves. Growing up, a trip to the market with my mom would usually end with us buying these popular Filipino food for dessert or merienda on Sundays which is family day for most Filipinos.
Not to forget the puto bumbong which is a delicious rice cake served with muscovado sugar and fresh, grated coconut.
This was a common fave among those of us there in this Sooo Pinoy food trip. I do remember my hubby and I started to like this puto bumbong at Probinsya during the last Christmas season when we would get the chance to dine there for early breakfast right after attending the misa de gallo from a nearby church. Do take note though that they serve this not just during Christmas but all year round especially during their breakfast buffet.
Sikwate or hot native chocolate is a product available at a delicious. Home-style dark native chocolate processed from 100% premium cacao beans.
The best of this food trip at Probinsya is probably tasting their Niletsong Liempo na may Sarsa at Laing! The skin of the liempo was really crispy and delicious making us feel we had lechon baboy or roasted pig for breakfast. So delicous and a must try! It is the first time I have eaten it there and it made this food trip there unforgettable.
They also served us Kare-kare with bagoong. It is a traditional Filipino stew known for having that peanut sauce that I like.
And this balbacua made of oxfeet and maskara (face) ng baka. It is a known dish here in the Philippines which is known to have originated in Cebu yet have been fused into different versions of the dish that is popular as well in Filipino restaurant here in Davao.
Probinsya is a buffet resto that we used to frequently go to for breakfast usually because it really more worth dining there given the many delicious choices of Filipino food to start your day than having breakfast at a near fastfood. Also since it became more near and accessible to us a few years ago. We also frequent this resto for their lunch and dinner buffet during which times I would have as much halo-halo as I can eat.
When you are looking for Filipino breakfast buffet in Davao, this is one of best buffet restaurants to go to. They serve breakfast buffet at P168 per person, while the lunch and dinner buffet are both at P298 per person.

Great blog. I salivated on that Liempo w/ laing. I wish they would open a branch here in MM. we’re all tired of Kamayan, Kamay Kainan, Cabalen…
I miss their puto bumbong. One of the best puto bumbong I have tasted in my life!
sarap nung niletsong liempo na may sarsa at laing! makabili nga ng liempo mamaya.
When we travel to Davao we usually have our breakfast buffet here with my colleagues. Can you suggest other buffet breakfast places in Davao?
My friends who visited Davao during a convention there said this is a place to visit. We’d like to try this in the future.
Ang sarap tingnan ng mga kakanin nila! Nakaka gutom tuloy.
