Donut Talk Event at Go Nuts Donuts in Abreeza Mall Davao

It was a night of fun and games plus insanely delicious and so sweet donuts from Go Nuts Donuts during the Donut Talk Event at their branch in Abreeza Mall Davao.

Go Nuts Donuts is proudly 100% Filipino owned donut brand in the country. The Trillana-De Ocampo clans engaged in a donut business and they started Go Nuts Donuts more than 8 years ago in December 2003. From being Insanely Delicious, they now have a new tagline which is “MORE THAN JUST GREAT DONUTS!” Thus they have a revised logo…

After a treat of their delicious donuts, Sir Edmund of Go Nuts Donuts had his talk about Go Nuts Donuts and their winning recipe among other things.

After which followed some games to which bloggers had fun on an insanely delicious donut-filled night.

Go Nuts Donuts now have two branches already in Davao City. First is the branch in Abreeza Mall Davao and second branch is at the lower ground level of Gaisano Mall of Davao. I was told that they are planning to open up another branch in Davao City at NCCC Mall. More branches catering to people who go nuts over their sweet and delicious donuts.

Hubby and I remember when they were newly opened at Abreeza, we would visit and not leave their store without a box of six donuts or sometimes even a dozen donuts aside from the frequent visits for snacks while our little boy was at school that we would hang out there to pass time in the afternoon.

I also remember when I first tasted their donut in one of our family trips to Manila in 2010 when we visited their Mall of Asia branch, their pastillas de leche became my fave since that time. This is a photo of a box of my fave Go Nuts Donuts… Durian Delight donuts (top) and Pastillas De Leche (bottom). Here’s a box of my fave sweet treats from Go Nuts Donuts! *wink*

Now I love their Durian Delight donut, shown in the photo below, which has been a fave of mine since hubby and I first tasted it in May of this year when they launched it as part of their Tropical Donuts. It looks like the pastillas de leche donut actually except that when you bite it, the sweet and strong delicious taste of durian is what you will get.

Since I love durian, I instantly fell in love with this donut. A taste of heaven less the usual durian smell that some people don’t like but for us durian lovers, it also smells like heaven. If you are a tourist in Davao visiting the city in time for Kadayawan 2012 then do try this donut flavor that tells Dabawenyos that Go Nuts have put us at their heart by making this special flavored donut that surely durian lovers will be delighted to eat. By the way, we also like their Pandan Macapuno tropical donut flavor which you might want to try as well.

We’ve probably tasted almost all of their donuts except for the pizza donuts. That is why I went for something new that night which I have not tasted, their pizza donuts. With their new tagline as I mentioned above, they now offer other products and more food choices aside from the usual donuts that they make.

Pizza Donuts more than just donuts from Go Nuts Donuts

I tried their pizza donut for the very first time and it was good! Hubby had three pizza donuts all three of these different flavors that were served there! I love it especially when it was served fresh and still warm. I just had to stop myself from eating another donut that night after having a piece of their Red Velvet donut and a Garlic and Cheese Pizza Donut right before that. But the fun does not stop there when they gave us a box of these pizza donuts aside from another box of their donuts. *wink*

Their pizzas look like a donut but are 100% pizza. It is available in four variants:

  • Barbeque pizza donut – topped with smoky barbeque sauce, caramelized onions, roasted bell peppers and chunks of chicken barbeque.
  • Garlic and Cheese pizza donut – topped with tomato sauce, garlic bits and mozzarella cheese.
  • Hawaiian pizza donut – topped with tomato sauce, pineapple chunks, ham slices and mozzarella cheese.
  • Pepperoni pizza donut – topped with tomato sauce, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese.

They also have two new products…

1) Grab & Go – which can be great as snacks at school for your kids. I think the kids at heart will also enjoy them as well.

  • Donut Cakes – yummy cakes in the shape of small donuts with extra special toppings. Available in cheese, ube and chocolate.
  • Whoopie Pies – which I’d like to taste sometime, are soft mini cakes sandwiched with thick, yummy marshmallow filling. Available in ube, chocolate and vanilla.
  • Moist Cakes – light on the bite, perfect to go with hot or cold beverages. Available in butter and chocolate.
  • Cookie Bites – bite-sized chewy, flavorful cookies with a healthy twist. Available in classic chocolate chip, double fudge chip, oatmeal raisin, oatmeal and peanut butter).
  • Fudgy Loops – chocolate brownies in the shape of loops with gooey choco frosting and candy toppers. Available in choco peanut, choco frost, black and white, and chocolate chips.

2) Pocket Pies – those flavorful meat fillings stuffed on a glazed (flaky) puff pastry crust and baked to perfection.

  • Tuna – filled with chunky tuna goodness.
  • Pizza – loaded with pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, meat and veggie bits.
  • Chicken – packed with creamy chicken filling

I’d like to try again their latest product innovations of Go Nuts Donuts sugar-free donuts or Go Nuts Lite. It’s a no sugar added version of their donuts available in two variants namely Choco Frost and Amazing Glaze.

More than just great donuts, they do hope Pinoys will continue to be proud of, love and patronize their donuts and other food products for indeed Go Nuts Donuts is proudly Pinoy!
