My little guy answered that he wants to try the dark mocha frappuccino from Starbucks as if he already knew that the triple mocha frappuccino was not available today when I dropped by the newly opened drive thru branch in Davao City of Starbucks Philippines at the Damosa Complex in Mamay Road, Lanang.

Dark mocha frappe is a combination of coffee, cocoa, with chocolate chips blended coming out as bits that will settle at the bottom of your drink, with milk and ice.

Just some thoughts… the drinks lately taste healthier as someone puts it. As one male barista explained during one of my recent visits, the ingredients used from different brands may contribute to that difference in taste. Perhaps we noticed they are using Lactel milk in red color in the packaging which if not mistaken is UHT whole milk . Lactel is a brand of French company Lactalis specializing in organic milk products.

Healthier option perhaps which does affect the taste as different brands also often vary in taste. In general, sometimes the organic type of ingredients aren’t as rich or delicious as the ones that we were used to. Hence a difference in taste comes as part of the move to serve healthier beverages to customers. I did try non-fat, sugar free drinks in the market and if you won’t adjust to the taste, you’d somehow miss the more delicious version of a drink or food that one has been used to. Coming to age, you tend to opt for healthier food and drinks but it often comes with a change that makes us sometimes miss the ones that we were used to before. Less is better and healthier as we will soon have to realize and accept. Come on Titas we all know that. Hahaha!
