Sooo Pinoy Food Trip na Pilipinas in Davao City at Grand Regal Hotel
The Sooo Pinoy Food Trip na Pilipinas in Davao City continues at the Grand Regal Hotel.
New dishes were prepared and presented to us by Grand Regal’s Executive Chef Edgar Chavez at the Montmarte Cafe, a small French inspired coffee shop located at the ground floor of the hotel. These special dishes will soon to be available and served to dining guests at the Grand Regal Hotel Davao. The hotel will also soon celebrate its 14th year anniversary since it started operating way back in 1998.
Grand Regal’s Hot Chili Crabs with coconut milk cooked with the usual tomato sauce but added with spicy sardines that was mashed and added to give a twist to the usual tomato sauce that it has. This dish is a must try for those who love crabs and wants a more spicy twist to it.
This one is called Fiesta. It is butterflied tilapia that is deep-fried served with green mango salad which is a combination of green mango, white radish, white onions cucumber and added with patis or fish sauce, calamansi, and chili for a little spice. When they will start serving this dish, they will use the pompano instead according to Chef since it is more delicious and tasty. Others like pompano because of its creamy flavor and texture as they’d describe it.
Pork Dinakdakan is a popular Filipino dish and this is Chef Chavez’s version of the Ilocano dish that is grilled pork belly with pork ear. This dish is something that will also be appreciated by those people who love to have a little exotic food trip experience since this s0-called native Ilocano delicacy is blended with pork brain. Hmmmm now it’s something the people of Davao and every Filipino should try to experience. You won’t even taste or know it’s there since it’s just similar to the usual pork kinilaw which I am reminded of when I saw the Dinakdakan only it’s grilled pork belly. So go for this dish when you get to dine at Grand Regal in the near future when this dish becomes available.
