Ola from Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken at SM City Davao Annex
Ola from Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken at SM City Davao Annex!!!
We have been curious about this new resto when we first saw it last March 9 during the soft opening of SM Davao Annex. I have heard of it before when it was announced that they will open its first branch in Mindanao at SM.
Peri-Peri opened last March 22 at the ground floor of SM Annex. From what I have heard they are using only imported African bird’s eye chilli for the marinade in their chicken for that truly distinct Portuguese flavor.
Upon entering this new restaurant in Davao City named Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken, home to Portuguese-style grilled chicken, you would hear the servers say all together… Ola Señor/Señora!
Now that should make you smile! It’s their unique way to greet diners having servers say it together.
Upon leaving, you would hear them say these words: Obrigado!… for thank you. Adeus… Tchau… Ate logo Señor/Señora as they say good bye Sir and Madam!
Well if I may answer back, I’d say De Nada… you’re welcome! Ate Mais… see you then! *Wink*
When we asked the waiter what he would recommend, he pointed us to their Everyday Value Meals (all for P235). Hubby chose Everyday Platter C – 1/4 Peri chicken, 2 pieces wild wings, corn & carrots, java rice and gravy. He chose the Lemon and Garlic flavor for the chicken. He asked for the java rice to be changed to plain rice, just a personal choice.
They have a Soup and Beverage All You Want for only P49 when you have an order of 1/4 Peri chicken.
We both love the taste of their Lemon and Garlic flavored grilled chicken. It was cooked just the way we like it… delicious and juicy!!!
For the little boy, we chose Kids Meal A (P165) – 2 pieces cornflaked chicken tenders, mac & cheese and fries served with green iced tea.
I like their macaroni & cheese. The little boy does not eat it so I enjoyed eating his share!
As for me, I needed something more healthy to eat and so I ordered their Classic Ceasar Salad (P98).
Then out of curiosity as to how it tasted, I ordered this Mozarella Sticks (P155) – breaded, fried mozzarella sticks with chunky marinara sauce.
Here’s the green iced tea that’s served with their Everyday Value Meals. It tasted like the regular iced tea only it is colored green. *wink*
The little boy had a fresh mango shake.
They have a small function room in the front area, while at the back of the resto is an alfresco dining area.
They have three TVs showing three different movies when we were there. There are two shown here while the third one is in the small function room. You can watch the movies while waiting for your food to be served.
Upon seeing this one below, I started thinking if I will treat my family here instead for my upcoming birthday. Hmmmm…. do I want a Peri-Peri birthday? *wink*
And here’s a little yet important reminder for everybody at the wash area…
Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken is one of the two newly opened restaurants at The Annex of SM City Davao. The rest are yet to open. This is the first in Davao City and according to one of their waiters they also have a branch in Cebu.
When we go to SM Davao lately, we would check out what’s new at the Annex especially the restaurants. So far they are the only ones along with Piyesta that had opened at SM Annex. We have tried Piyesta Davao twice already. I wanted to dine at Peri-Peri but during our first attempt almost three weeks ago when they were newly opened, I had to back-out for one reason and we went instead to Piyesta Davao nearby for our first dinner there.
As we would go back to SM Annex to check what new restaurant had opened since, there’s only Peri-Peri that we have yet to try so far. Finally tonight, I told my boys since we cannot decide where to eat at SM Main, we will finally try Peri-Peri! And we did within less than an hour before they closed! Curiosity satisfied over the Portuguese-style grilled chicken! *wink*
My barkada & I had been here twice. We love Peri-Peri! Ola! 😛
So proud that i once worked on the architectural firm who designed this resto. Keeping a nice ambiance brought chicken eaters more enjoy and never forget to put smiles on their face whenver they stepped out from that firee yet sooo nice resto. =]
