Penong’s Barbeque and Seafood Grill Restaurant | Sooo Pinoy Food Trip in Davao City
Penong’s Barbeque and Seafood Grill Restaurant in Davao City takes pride in offering delicious and affordable native barbeque chicken in town. It has come a long way since it started. It’s original branch is located at Ilustre Street here in Davao. It now has expanded with branches in Matina, Quirino, Ponciano, Sta. Ana, Buhangin, Toril, Lanang, and going as far as Tagum, Panabo, Kidapawan, Digos, CDO, GSC, and Quiapo Manila based on their website’s information.
Our trip to Penong’s branch in Ponciano Street for lunch on a sunny day made me realize how I miss those food trips we had with hubby a few years ago when we would go to grill restos in the city such as Penong’s looking for affordable barbecue and grilled dishes. They are known for their Inato Meals which are simply budget meals for those who are budget conscious customers like students for example.
Baby Back Ribs… a fave and this looks juicy and delicious! An order can cost P120 or P230 for family size order.
Pinukotan – Seafood Basket. It is a basket serving that consists of shrimps (oh my fave!), squid, clams and blue marlin fish (another fave) all grilled and arranged to a mouth-watering combination that is worth the price of P468 for one order of this. It comes with green mango strips, onions, and tomatoes as side dish. It is what they say the ultimate food basket for seafood lovers. This is good for those dining in groups of 4 persons like as a family, friends or barkada. Though sometimes it all depends on one’s appetite especially when you’re hungry and served with your favorite Filipino seafood dish such as this.
Deep fried eggplant… one of my fave when it comes to lutong bahay. I like tortang talong.
So when you look and crave for grilled Filipino dishes like barbeque, you can always go to the nearest Penong’s Barbeque and Seafood Grill Restaurant.
