Cafe Mediterranean | Abreeza Ayala Mall Davao

Cafe Mediterranean at Abreeza Ayala Mall Davao serves a selection of entrée including salad such as Turkish, Greek and Shephard’s salads. They also serve kebabs, soups and Greek sandwiches which is something I’d want to try next time. Pastas and pizza, the latter of which we have tried before in their Chimes restaurant, are some of the favorite dishes at Café Mediterranean.

For Davaoeños looking for a healthy food trip, this cafe is the place for you with a nice and relaxing ambiance making some people feel like they are dining in a café in Europe, Italy or Greece.

These are the food served during our flavorful dining at Cafe Mediterranean Flavours of the Sun during the one of a kind food tripping we attended at the Abreeza Ayala Mall Davao with some fellow Davao bloggers last Saturday. It was one gastronomic food trip experience Charles and I will never forget!

Cafe Mediterranean Abreeza Ayala Mall Davao - Sampler Plate of 4 kofta, falafeel, baba ghanoush, tzatziki

We got a serving of their Sampler Plate of 4 with Kofta, Falafeel, Baba Ghanoush, and Tzatziki (center),  served with a choice between whole wheat or regular pita bread.

Cafe Mediterranean Abreeza Ayala Mall Davao - Greek Salad

The Greek Salad is a country salad with juicy tomatoes, crisp sliced cucumbers, sliced onions, green bell peppers, crumbled feta cheese which is from Davao’s very own Malagos  Farmhouse and plump Kalamata olives. This is one healthy meal I’d love to have each day, if only I could!

A “little side story” I wanted to share as I get to think about this cheese they used. This feta cheese from Malagos Farmhouse in Davao is served in premiere hotels in Manila like The Mandarin Oriental, Shangri-la and the Manila Hotel to name a few. That’s why when I heard about it from Cafe Mediterranean, I really cherished the taste of this feta cheese. Proud of this local Davao product which have been featured. Even Philippine Airlines, our premiere flag carrier, also serves Malagos cheese on their flights as they have opted for locally made cheese such as Feta, Blue Cheese and Chevere over imported cheeses. Now back to the Cafe Mediterranean dishes…

Cafe Mediterranean Abreeza Ayala Mall Davao - Lentil Soup

Their Lentil Soup I have tasted is a healthy soup with flavor that is so familiar yet this is the first time I have tried this soup. From what I have read before this soup is highly nutritious, particularly good source of protein, dietary fiber, iron and potassium.

Cafe Mediterranean Abreeza Ayala Mall Davao - Italian Bean Soup

Their Italian Bean Soup is a hearty and healthy soup with cannellini and red kidney beans, carrots, green bell peppers and whole-peeled tomatoes. A fave of Charles and Jesse.

Cafe Mediterranean Abreeza Ayala Mall Davao - Hummus

This is their Hummus, a classic chick pea and sesame dip from the Middle East served with a choice between regular or whole wheat pita bread. It is a popular food throughout the Middle East and elsewhere. Don’t think of this as humus, that organic matter in the soil. *Wink* The recipe for this can be traced back to Egypt as early as the 13th century that is why some people say this is a very ancient food. When you enjoy eating this with its distinct taste, you get to think of the history of this food way back centuries ago.

It is truly a unique and interesting food trip that one can have when you dine with your family and friends at Cafe Mediterranean. They have lots of other delicious food which they are proud to be healthy options for those who come to dine at their cafe restaurant. I remember we first tried their food before at Cafe Mediterranean Chimes in Governor Sales Street, Davao City in March 2008.  That was quite a long time ago. I remember it was a unique and interesting food trip during our first time there.

By the way here are some of their promos – Buy 1, Get 1 free of their Gyro Pizza in beef or chicken. This is available daily for dine in only from 2-5PM. They will also be offering 10% discount on selected food during Wednesdays. Plus they have Value Meals for only P99 so you get to try to taste their food!

Cafe Mediterranean Flavours of the Sun is located at the Ground Floor outside Zone3 Abreeza Mall, Bajada, Davao City and their telephone number is (082) 321 2650.
