Let’s Play Pickle Ball in Davao
Played pickle ball just for fun and try out at the MTS pickleball court.
No coach. First time to play against my anak. Fun and not as tiring as I thought it would be. Grateful to God for sustaining strength even had lack sleep night before. Thank you God for the fun bonding with my child. He was really garteful as well we finally were able to try the pickleball court at MTS after we first visited it as a fam last Sunday.
It was fun sweating it out. My child after some hesistance because there were many people as DENR was having a tournament on courts 3 & 4. He was able to book walk in and it was quick. Paid P200/hour. It becomes P250/hour from 5PM and night time because it needs lights have to be turned on from the court sides.
We brought our own paddles and balls. Our child got a pickleball set as a gift from his dad after graduation. Time for us to try this sport which our child had played at school for their PE class.
MTS Security guard on duty at the court was very kind and friendly. Salamat Chief! Thankful for Ms. A also for letting us play a little bit with her in her rented court as we were still trying to convince ourselves if we can play or not. My first time to actually play pickleball. But I play badminton and pingpong or table tennis when I was younger.
Not yet sure on the rules of pickleball but it was fun to simply hot the ball and sweat it out. It was great sport to bond with my child who has been wanting to play pickleball as soon as their summer break started. Fifteen minutes into the game we had to take a break. So sweaty already and need a water break. I need to take it easy too. But I feel God blessed me with energy even when I lack sleep last night. Thank you God.
Con side: There is a smoking area nearby the entrance to the court and the smell of smoke sometimes goes to the court. We were in court 2. We wanted court 1 but it was already pre booked ahead. I noticed the smell of cigarette smoke when I switched side of the court and was playing near the side of the Emilia’s and Aling Fopings. Who wants to breathe poisonous cigarette smoke while playing a sport? No one should right? I could not spot anyone on that side and later realized after we finished our game that it was coming from the people destroying their lungs and others smoking in the designated area near the entrance of the pickleball court. We are quite sensitive to smoke so I could only hope that the smoking area be kindly moved farther away from the court entrance and area. Clean air act enforced AND we all NEED clean air coming in your lungs as you catch your breathe from a fun sport playing pickleball right? Please MTS. Appreciate much if this could be fixed. There are other areas we can place that smoking area away from harming other people’s health while playing a healthy sport for your health right? Sorry Tita mode and as a mother I don’t want my child to inhale that too. We have too much polluted air already if one commutes from the vehicles on the road.
