Frozen Chocolate Brazo by Dulce Vida at Tiny Kitchen Davao
Frozen Chocolate Brazo by Dulce Vida at Tiny Kitchen Davao
I wanted to have something sweet like our fave chocolate moist cake but they were not making the size of the cake I preferred to buy for our simple media noche with my boys for New Year’s Eve.
On our way home we passed by Torres Street and saw many cars parked at Tiny Kitchen. Customers were coming and going. It’s the last day of the year and Tiny Kitchen traditionally is only open for a few hours for take out only of pre-ordered cakes, pastries and food. No dine in that day as the restaurant section is closed during this special non-working holiday.
There were no more cakes left as the store was about to close at 3PM, except for those pre-ordered cakes and pastries with customers picking them up till the store closed for their annual week-long holiday break with the Chef out to enjoy the holidays with his beautiful family.
I decided to drop by past 2:30PM I think just taking chances that I might be lucky enough to be able to still buy a cake.
TADA!
I still got lucky since the last few remaining were about five frozen chocolate brazo. And just within my budget for the cake for our media noche.
This delicious creation of Ms. Donna was among the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s 25 Best Desserts of 2010. This was the last cake I had in 2015 and the first cake I have for 2016. It’s really delicious! Me and my boys love this!
It’s a taste of heaven in this four-layered delicious and sweet treat perfect for Christmas and New Year: fluffy meringue on top, delicious custard filling, creamy chocolate ice cream and chocolate cake.
It still is a best seller up to this day. Best served and eaten when it has been frozen well. There’s no worry freezing it again for us because most likely there’s none left to be frozen again for sure. It’s all stored in the happy tummies of me and my boys! *wink*
I’d also like to thank Ms. Donna for these treats. I realized it has been awhile since I had eaten fruit cake. These were good. Thank you! 🙂
Now, I wish everyone a safe and wonderful New Year’s Eve!
May you spend it well in the company of your family, friends and loved ones.
I am grateful for 2015! May 2016 be a great year for us all!
God bless us all!
