Pork Siopao from Tevanj Snack Inn
We have been thinking more about Kuilan’s since their Lacson branch has re-opened and had visited them twice. But today at the school canteen we had our afternoon snacks before heading home and I saw this Pork Siopao or steamed buns with pork filling from Tevanj Snack Inn (former Vangie Eatery).
They specialize in mini siopao filled with pork, chicken or monggo.
I didn’t buy it at first because I am more loyal to Kuilan’s pork siopao which is my fave since. The other stall at the canteen didn’t have Kuilan’s siopao today. I was still hungry after having my bowl of binignit and so I thought of trying it out to satisfy my curiosity.
It costs P18 at school. I think it costs lower at their store. The Kuilan’s siopao at the canteen costs almost P2 more than when you but it at their branches.
I shared this with the hubby so he can also taste it too. I may have tasted it long before but could not remember how it tasted.
In fairness it was good. It may have been better if it was newly made maybe. It is priced higher than Kuilan’s. Hubby and I still prefer Kuilan’s. I have friends though who prefer Tevanj. Well to each his/her own preference on two of Davao’s known makers of siopao.
We will try this again in their store if and when we get to visit it in Agdao.
Tevanj Snack Inn is located at Door 3 Tan Building, R. Castillo Street, Agdao, Davao City.
