Manang’s Chicken at Gaisano Mall Davao

Manang’s Chicken at Gaisano Mall Davao 4th Level is the first branch in Davao and VisMin outside Metro Manila. It is their 13th branch. Their first branch opened in June 2011 at Ortigas Center in Pasig. They had their soft opening of their Gaisano Mall branch last November 20, 2013. This is their first branch in Mindanao and the first outside of Luzon. They had a get together for bloggers last December 7, 2013. We had the pleasure of meeting the president and CEO of Manang’s Chicken, Jill Gerodias Borja.

Manang’s Chicken started as a family recipe by the Gerodias family. The family cook fondly called “Manang” often cooked the chicken for the children in the family and that’s where the dish got its name “Manang’s Chicken” and was then used as the name of the restaurant.

Crispy, double deep fried chicken with Manang’s secret soy garlic glaze sauce. Choose from original, mild spicy or extra spicy. They also serve other Filipino-inspired comfort dishes.

We tried their extra spicy sauce and it can really be spicy. I can only take their mild spicy chicken or better settle for the original flavor.

They have flavored chips which you can enjoy for snacks.

Enjoy these chips with these four (4) choices of dips to choose from: garlic mayo, creamy cheese, spicy ketchup and garlic mayo.

We enjoyed this bucketful of crunchy chips! I think I can finish one bucket by myself. *wink*

For dessert, they have classic desserts that got a holiday twist! Try their Puto Bumbong Velvet Sundae and Bibingka Velvet Sundae available only this Christmas season..

An exotic twist on a classic dessert. Moist vanilla cake layered with durian creme and velvety smooth ice cream finished off with yellow sprinkles and rice crispies.
