Malagos Garden Resort’s Weekend Lunch Buffet

Malagos Garden Resort's Weekend Lunch Buffet IMG20220910102511Malagos Garden Resort has long been a popular tourist destination for places to visit when in Davao City. It is located in Baguio District, Calinan about 45 minutes ride from downtown. I was looking forward to going back there once again since the pandemic. Visited the place last Saturday with DDI friends for a taste of the sumptuous Malagos weekend buffet at their Coral Pavillion.

IMG20220910131708It was a nice part of the weekend buffet to have a live music performance at the stage for everyone’s entertainment and gives a more relaxed atmosphere in the dining hall. Enjoyed most of the music he played. I wonder if we can make a request for some of our fave songs next time.

Then he played “Dance With My Father” at one point which struck a senti mode. I have happy memories of my dad and miss seeing him during Sunday family gatherings. Swayed to the beautiful song while I was enjoying our lunch buffet there. I suddenly want to request for Jung Kook’s Left and Right to shake off the senti mode.

Why should I be surprised when the whole big dining hall was filled
with a lot of people as soon as their popular bird show event was over before noon.
There is a line in coming in but it won’t take long to come in and be seated in your table.

Happy to see that they do serve lechon in the carving station.
It is perfect for a sumptuous weekend lunch Filipino style especially
if you have foreign or even local tourist guests and companions along in your group.
We all know that lechon is always a staple part of a Filipino feast.

I specifically asked the server for one big crunchy
lechon skin to indulge just that one time anyway.

Malagos Garden Resort weekend lunch buffet couscous IMG20220910103256

They suggested to have couscous with your lechon
which for me balances out the guilty indulgence with something healthy
being a good source of fiber to help lower cholesterol.

Their buffet has  the street food station which was an interesting one for me.
I don’t usually see that from other hotels or buffet restaurants in the city.

I was happy to see this because I love a banana dessert.
Plus they also have these nicely sliced thin and long cut banana chips.
Davao region after all has an abundant supply of banana.

What I personally enjoyed and loved having for lunch also was their
fresh lumpia for a healthy fill and it stood out as being delicious for my tummy.

They have cold cuts in the appetizer section.
I was looking for their popular Chevre from the well-known Malagos Farmhouse artisanal cheeses in this section.

Malagos Garden resort weekend lunch buffet pasta station IMG20220910111424

The pasta station was one that I eyed for because
I was craving for some delicious pasta a few days ago.
But of course when in Malagos, you might as well have a healthy feast
at their Malagos Garden salad station.

As for those who love tempura, this section is for you. I had their shrimp tempura.

They have chocolate cake for dessert.

Then the kids and kids at heart simply couldn’t resist lining up for their own made
Pinoy sorbetes or ice cream in mango and ube flavors.

If you are looking for real fruits, they do have those in season for fresh juices and shakes.
Orders, however, are charged separately.

For the men who wanna enjoy a bottle of beer for the weekend, they do have them too.
Drink moderately and these are charged separately too.
