Freak Shakes at Confex Co. & Bake House
This new craze in town with these Freak Shakes at this little shop called Confex Co. & Bake Shop which caught my attention recently and we checked it out when we had a chance.

When we got there for the first time, they had ran out of pastry and cake toppings already for the shake an hour before they close. But I took the chance to take a snap of these vanilla shakes above that they were serving. The vanilla shakes turn out to be their bestseller. They also have chocolate and strawberry shakes. If you just want the shake that’s P120.
The shake with toppings is P170. You can chose the flavor of the shake you want. For the toppings you may opt for:
> Two toppings of revel bar + cupcake.
> Two toppings both cupcakes of your choice.
> One slice of cake of your choice.
You can order their cake separately at P60/slice.

My hubby and I like their revel bar! The revel bar is P25 while the cupcakes are at P35. You can order them separately too.
The place was full when we went there for the first time.
The place is small actually with only four tables for now. Hope they can expand soon to accommodate more customers!

On our second visit the following day we got lucky. We went there early during the first hour of their opening and we had the place to ourselves for a few minutes before the customers came in groups one after another.
We were finally able to try their Freak Shakes. They use Allegro ice cream in strawberry, chocolate and vanilla flavors for the shake plus Conaprole UHT Full Cream Milk as we have seen them making the shakes in their little bake shop.
This is the first kind of shake I have seen sold in the city. I have seen someone make it before in Davao but I am not sure if they have been selling it commercially or if their new own store has already opened in Juna. I have seen similar concept of shakes on Instagram but those are not here in the city.
Since the vanilla shake is their bestseller, I chose that plus chocolate shake for our little guy. In as much as I wanna indulge, we ordered only two since hubby and I should not take too much sugar anymore. These two should be enough for sharing for the three of us. We can indulge once in awhile but we really have to watch out with that sugar rush. Honestly we were not able to consume either of the shakes when we left to give way to a couple who came in and were waiting for a table which we have already shared actually to three ladies who came in before them when the tables were all occupied already.
We focused more on consuming the pastries. We also liked their red velvet cake. I’ve been wanting to buy it but they had an emergency yesterday and had to close for the day. They are open today at 3PM. Regular store hours are 3PM-9PM Tuesday to Sunday (Update: They have moved their opening hour from 1PM to now 3PM). They are closed during Mondays by the way. I think Monday as rest day has become the new Sunday for some shops these days.
The idea of doing these freak shakes basically topping shakes with pastries – revel bars, cupcakes and cakes is an idea we welcome with excitement! You can order the pastries separately. And they serve cake boards or small plates where you can eat your cakes and cupcakes in case you want to take it down from the mason jar they serve it on top of the shake.

We hope they do ice cream shakes too as I mentioned to one of them today when we ordered for take out. Hope they try those ice cream sandwiches too.
Also that yummy looking fried ice cream sandwich or using cookies which I hope we can find in Davao soon too… maybe in their shop perhaps!
