Vjandep Pastel of Camiguin | Pastel Buns with Filling
Vjandep Pastel of Camiguin which I first heard of when I was able to have a vacation trip to Camiguin with my former officemates years ago. These Pastel Buns with Filling Original Yema Flavor may not be from Davao but it is readily available these days in Davao in the grocery and supermarkets like in SM City Davao. My boys like this so much so every chance we get to have our grocery at SM, we would buy this. We like the yema flavor filling inside which is yummy and delicious.
This is made by Vjandep Bakeshop which I was able to visit in Camiguin years ago to buy our pasalubong pastel then. The pastel (bun) is made of flour, eggs, milk, sugar, butter, shortening and yeast while their various choices of fillings has the following ingredients:

- Cheese – cheese and sugar
- Langka – langka, sugar, calamansi juice
- Macapuno – macapuno, sugar, calamansi juice
- Mango – mango puree, sugar, mango bits
- Pineapple – pineapple, sugar
- Ube – ube, evaporated and condensed milk, sugar, butter
- Yema – milk, eggs, butter
There are other flavors available by order: durian, guava, strawberry, chocolate and special yema.
