Tokyo Tokyo Opens Its First VisMin Branch at SM Lanang Premier in Davao City
Tokyo Tokyo Opens Its First VisMin Branch at SM Lanang Premier in Davao City.
Hubby and I were pretty excited to attend the event for Tokyo Tokyo yesterday since we missed dining at this place for the first time supposedly at their Greenbelt 1 branch during our recent trip to Manila. This new Tokyo Tokyo branch in Davao City is proudly the first branch in Visayas and Mindanao.
Almost 30 years since the first Tokyo Tokyo store was established at Quad Park in Makati, the country’s #1 Japanese fast food chain finally arrives in the VisMin Region – serving their signature dishes to Davaoeños first.
“As we officially open the doors of Tokyo Tokyo in the heart of Davao, we hope to open a whole new dining experience for all Davaoeños – one of quality, affordable and delicious Japanese cuisine. We’re very happy to be opening not only the first branch to be built outside of Luzon, but also the beginning of our long-awaited expansion plans in the VisMin Region,” said Tokyo Tokyo’s Marketing Manager Joan Pamplona.
We get to try for the first time the dishes they served to the media and bloggers…
Prawn Tempura – prawn coated in batter and fried into perfect crisp served with sweet tempura sauce. It is a personal fave now of mine since I really like shrimps/prawns.
Pork Tonkatsu – pork coated and fried with Panko breadcrumbs served with Tonkatsu sauce.
Beef Misono – pre-marinated beef in selected seasonings served with sushi sauce.
Honey Chicken Teriyaki – tender and crispy chicken bites flavored with teriyaki sauce and sprinkled with sesame seeds.
My maki lover friend would have been so delighted if she saw these makis. There was a demo for maki making where a couple of bloggers were able to try doing it.
Their California Maki – garlic kani crabstick with mango. It’s a fave and I want to try their other Fancy Makis next time.
Other maki choices among their Fancy Maki are American, Tempura and Spicy Beef which we all want to try next time. I’d like to try their crunchy Nori Wasabi fries next time and their burgers. I personally like their prawn tempura and honey chicken teriyaki.
We tried today their caramel pearl milk tea called Hokkaido (P70) and we liked it. We had a great late lunch there today (yes they were still full of customers and diners around 5PM as customers keep coming in).
A little side story, it was highlighted by having a photo souvenir (taken by my hubby) with Daniel Matsunaga before which he quickly massaged my back/shoulders. Yes I can now brag to my sisters that a celebrity as handsome as him massaged me. *wink*
Daniel visited Tokyo Tokyo at SMLA this afternoon during the opening day. His female fans screamed as a larger crowd outside gathered to see Tokyo Tokyo’s handsome endorser, while hubby and I tried to take photos of him for Ms. Joan of Tokyo Tokyo.

The people in Davao are proud that Tokyo Tokyo has chosen our city to open its first branch outside Luzon. I know there are many fans out there in this city who are really happy to welcome and continue to patronize Tokyo Tokyo including some friends who have tried their food in their branches in Manila and love their affordable as well as delicious Japanese cuisine. Tokyo Tokyo is located at the third floor of SM Lanang Premier. It is in between KFC and Jollibee. See you there! 🙂
