Tablescapes Season 2 at Studio 23 (Mondays at 11PM)
I first saw last Monday, April 14 the show Tablescapes… Life on a Plate Season 2 at Studio 23 airing on Mondays at 11:00PM. It is the first travel cooking show in the Philippines. It is hosted by Angel Aquino and Filipino-Chinese Chef Bruce Lim who goes around the different places in the Philippines and indulge themselves in gastronomic delights of the featured islands and destinations. It is indeed a one of a kind culinary and travel adventure. Chef Bruce is a graduate of Grand Diplome in Cuisine and Pastry from Le Cordon Bleu in London and has worked in the MGM hotel in Las Vegas.
I instantly liked the show as I am a foodie myself and it’s also educational showcasing the beautiful places a tourist can go to in the Philippines. Towards the end of the show, Chef Bruce would cook up something delicious at his very special kitchen and the recipe would relate to the place they have just featured in the show introducing the dishes that best represents that destination which are mostly Philippine provinces.
A bonus is that they feature the lifestyle of famous celebrities plus their favorite food, places and a lot more. They also show different styles of table setting. Then the segment of the show follows where you would see Angel’s hands preparing a nice table setting and most of the time it is set in a unique and artistic way. Then they would wrap up the show tasting the food and sometimes they have guests on the show. If you’re a foodie and loves to travel then this show might just be for you!
I love the Philippines, Tablescapes is one way for me to know more about my country, dahil hindi lang it features delicious cusines, also it features the Beautiful Places around the country. Masaya ako dahil may mga ganitong TV shows, because some people dont have the time to travel, like me pero atleast they have seen those places through your show, I hope you will feature places that is not often visited by tourist and those are not yet been known as a tourist destination, para na rin we can have ideas and choices. thank you so much and more power to your show.
Hayyyy! ang cute cute ni Chef Bruce at ni Angel. I watched your show every week…part of the show that I love most….is the cooking.. yum-yum!
Hope to see more places in your show.
And sana please show the Northern part of the Philippines also…like Banaue, Nueva Vizcaya and many more.
Thank you very much and more power to your show.

I love to watch Tablescapes and usually we watch a rerun/reply already for I don’t know what their skeds at ANC or the TFC channel here. I heard about their Season 2, but I haven’t seen one yet here.
Angel has one of the most prettiest face and she makes the table setting so easy after she buys all those nice Philippine products from the provinces they went to and set them up for their dining table.
Bruce is a wonderful chef. It looks so easy whenever he whips up those recipes he learned from the trip they’ve been to and make up his own gourmet recipe in it. I admire his cooking style and talent.
Now it maybe kinda off topic, but I feel that Bruce is under-rated by Kris Aquino at her segment sa Boy n Kris. It looks like Bruce is just there to be used by Kris. Kris tends to show-off her cooking kuno, while in fact – Bruce has more “K” to show off… okay tama na ang ranting ko.
At any rate, very good show and hopefully they’ll be aired soon sa TFC na… I’m missing it!
I love watching this show though sometimes I miss it coz it’s really quite late at night. But I try as much to watch it. I have to say too that being a good chef, he is also cute and gwapo hahaha.
Regarding your comment on Kris, I somehow agree that she could do that segment in Boy and Kris all on her own. Chef Bruce could only say a few lines and just smile sometimes coz Kris can do all the talking. Good thing Chef Bruce is a gentleman. But in fairness to Kris, there are also times that she does commend on Chef Bruce and tells the viewers that she learns from him a lot. But Kris has a strong personality I’m not sure though if that is the proper term to use. She is more talkative as we all know.
Thank you for your comment! By the way where are you now? Hope you could see Tablescapes in TFC soon. It is really a good and informative travel-cooking show!
