Sooo Pinoy Food Trip na Pilipinas in Davao City at Paradise Island Park & Beach Resort
Sooo Pinoy Food Trip in Davao at Paradise Island Park & Beach Resort
This beach resort has been one of our fave since it is the most accessible beach resort for us at the Island Garden City of Samal. Having breakfast by the beach there with my boys will always be a great treat if and when we get to do so. So I was kind of excited when this beach resort was part of the places we’d visit for the Sooo Pinoy food trip.
Upon arriving at Paradise on the third day of the food tour, we were greeted with a cold and refreshing glass of juice plus a cold towel which everyone seems to have appreciated after the boat ride on a warm afternoon.
At the entrance we were serenaded by a group of musicians who made a Harana by singing various songs to entertain us and the other guests at the beach resort.
Almost everyone in the group seem to have enjoyed their halo-halo taking their time eating it given the warm weather that afternoon. I enjoyed their halo-halo and being a huge fan of macapuno, I was happy that they had it as an ingredient. Yes it has a serving of macapuno in it plus my fave leche flan and ube ice cream on top. Yummy!!! If ever we get to go back to visit Paradise one of these days with my boys, I’ll let them try their halo-halo as well.
They also served pinaypay or banana fritters as many people I know would call it and an old fave afternoon snack of mine since I was young. They also served us fried camote for our merienda.
We enjoyed a Sooo Pinoy merienda while we enjoy some time away from Davao City to relax. Yes it was so relaxing that a few got to doze off for an afternoon nap. If there was a beach lounge chair nearby, I would have dozed off as well.
What a relaxing afternoon indeed it was after eating merienda and finally sampling the delicious Filipino dishes that they graciously prepared for us such as the Seafood Curry, Calamares Ala Romana, Oven Baked Mixed Seafood, Chicken Binakol, and Pinaputok na Tiyan ng Bangus.
The bangus was delicious making me wish I could eat have eaten more of it but I was quite full already from the merienda. The oven baked mixed seafood had tangigue, shrimps, squid and onions. Their seafood curry was a delight for me since I love these delectable curry dishes. This is something for those who love seafood and curry sauce that goes well with fish. Hmmm just looking and remembering it now, makes me crave for it once again. If you get to visit Paradise, these sumptuous Filipino seafood dishes would be a delight to the hungry tummies of your family and friends after a swim at the beach.
By the way, if you plan to head out for a beach escapade or like us wanting to have a breakfast by the beach which Paradise offers, a boat ride through the shortest route from Davao City to Paradise usually only takes five (5) minutes. Visitors are ferried by a fleet of 10 boats operated by the management of the resort from 5:00 AM up to 5:00 PM. Boat Fee is P15 per person. Cover charge for a day tour is P200 while for overnight it’s P300.
“Paradise Island Park & Beach Resort is a secluded place along the famous Davao Gulf, offers a bundle of unique experiences from the boat ride to the shores of the island. As you cruise across the gulf, be amazed by a great panoramic view of Davao City and Mount Apo as its background to your right and the best side of Samal Island ahead which shows the white sand and azure blue waters on a sunny day. Be lulled by the sound of the soft waves at the same time feel the sea breeze in your face. In this part of the world, who says it takes a lifetime to reach Paradise?” – (source: Paradise Island Park & Beach Resort)

This epic food trip in Davao City from June 25-29, 2012 is part of Unilever Food Solutions’ Sooo Pinoy campaign, in partnership with the Department of Tourism, to make more Filipinos aware of the richness and diversity of our cultural heritage with our Filipino dishes and cuisine in the Philippines and for this leg featuring the local dishes may it be their traditional versions or unique yet delicious fusion of Filipino cuisine that are popular in Davao City. Thank you Unilever Food Solutions for making us a part of this epic Davao food trip!

Wow that’s cool! I hope this campaign goes to Palawan as well.
@Diva Fabulosa, I do hope they would make Palawan as one of their stops. Alam ko lang they have been to Cebu and Boracay before Davao. Check out their Facebook page and Twitter account for their updates. 🙂
Looks like you have an exciting Sooo Pinoy adventure Mommy Tere! The food looks delicious!
I miss Paradise already. Just like you, that place is one of my family’s favorite resort 😉
@Mommy Rovs, indeed it was a week-long food trip adventure. 🙂
It’s been a long time since I last visited Paradise. :p
I’m hoping to visit the many beautiful places here in our country.. kahit d na siguro mag-out of the country sobrang sulit na.. 🙂
i grew up in Davao Tere but honestly, I have never been to Paradise. I have been to several resorts in Samal island, but never in Paradise… so ironic when everyone goes there, ako naman, haven’t been there… hehehe… that’s a super nice campaign… hope they would also stop by Bohol soon in their next trips… visiting from the BE.
@Pinx, Paradise naman is the most visited beach resort for us in Samal. I have not explored most of the other resorts in Samal. Only a few pa lang.
Yes the Sooo Pinoy campaign is really good for it promotes pride in us as well as the appreciation of different Filipino dishes in various parts of the country.
Best regards Pinx and to your boys as well! 🙂
I miss paradise! i love the food there.
Remind me to stop by Paradise this august!
It will be my first time to visit Davao next month, yey! Can’t wait…
