DusitD2 Offers Afternoon Treats from Siam Lounge and Dusit Gourmet

It was a delightful experience to be able to celebrate the International Women’s Day even a day after with the company of these beautiful women in a nice afternoon tea last March 9 hosted by Ms. Faith of DusitD2 at Dusit Gourmet as there were other hotel guests already at the Siam Lounge.

It was my first time to be back in any hotel in Davao City since last year. Glad to see DusitD2 up and running well especially during this time.

DusitD2 is offering some special perks for the month of March for their guests and diners at Siam Lounge and Dusit Gourmet to enjoy particularly in the afternoon.

Siam Lounge has a Filipino-themed afternoon high tea which ladies and even your gentleman date or friend can join you too. It is said to be designed to make an authentic and unique experience that is closer indeed to our Filipino  palate.

For Women’s Month, Siam Lounge offers afternoon high tea with a special 20% discount for all women.  Their Filipino-themed afternoon tea set is good for two persons, and consists of sweets, scones, and savories which you can enjoy while catching up with a friend you haven’t seen for a year or for a business meeting perhaps.

The sweets include banana and langka turon which for me would be delightful to enjoy served warm. It comes with native tsokolate sauce you can dip it in. Plus there is Durian tart for a taste of Davao’s king of fruits. There are also steamed ube puto cheese and mini ensaymadas.

The scones are traditional raisin and dried mango varieties. Then the savory section have egg sandwich on white loaf, grilled bistek beef wrap, and pulled pork adobo pandesal. See there is more Filipino fare in this afternoon tea set than I expected.

The set aims for a traditional Filipino fusion for  merienda and match it with premium TWG teas from the lounge. You have a choice of TWG’s Vanilla Bourbon (for a fruity type of tea), Grand Jasmine Tea, or English Breakfast Tea. This tea-ta (Tita) enjoyed the Bourbon most. 

The whole afternoon high tea set is available at Php850 net per order.

Dusit Gourmet, on the other hand, upgrades its bread and pastry collection with delightful sunset perks in store for those who want to bring home DusitD2’s delectable pastry and bread treats.

When the clock strikes at 6 in the evening from Tuesdays to Fridays, Dusit Gourmet offers selected items on 50% off the original price. I got to try that and bought white chocolate doughnuts two pieces for P50 only. I love the doughnuts when I even got to heat it at home and enjoyed it like it was just baked served warm.

While on Saturdays, all items including premium whole cakes and pralines are on 50% off also when the clock strikes 6 in the evening.

With more varieties added on the menu, diners may take out items like the Durian Megeve Cake, which is also the cake for March on which month our city celebrated Araw ng Davao last March 1 starting this year.

This month, Dusit Gourmet also opens its doors to more avid customers who are keen to try the wide array of breads, desserts, and pastries of the outlet.
