Cabalen Opens 30th Branch at SM City Davao Annex
Cabalen finally opened a branch in Davao at the SM City Davao Annex last July 21, 2017. It’s their first branch in Mindanao.
It is their 30th branch within the Philippines. They already have one store outside the Philippines at San Bruno, California making it 31 branches in and out of the country.

For P298 +VAT or Php 333 per person, you can now enjoy an eat-all-you-can buffet of your favorite Filipino and Kapampangan specialty dishes like Cabalen’s kare kare. They have 50% discount for children below 4 feet and free for children below 3 feet tall.
I read that Cabalen won the best in Kare-Kare Champion in GMA 7 Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho “Kare-Kare Cook-Off Show in 2015. I tried their kare-kare and the savory peanut sauce is one of the real good tasting ones I had around Davao.
Tagged as the Home of the Best Kare-kare and known for their sumptuous and authentic Kapampangan and Filipino dishes like the dinuguan, caldereta, lechon paksiw, crispy kangkong, and tibok-tibok, your cravings for Filipino food will truly be satisfied when dining in the resto buffet style!
Caldereta and Beringhe are among special dishes in Cabalen.
My personal fave would include the native longganisa which is locally sourced, and their pritchon!
The Pritchon is one of the favorite of diners at Cabalen’s buffet. Imagine that’s pritong lechon all you can eat! I get to indulge in a little crispy lechon skin when I was there. Oh la la!
The Filipino themed resto is still on soft opening but many customers are already lining up to dine there. They will be having their grand opening sometime this August in time for our Kadayawan Festival in the city. They may be adding a few new Filipino dishes with a taste of Davao in time for the festive month. Davaoenos now have a new Filipino buffet resto to dine in the city with the whole family for those looking for our fave Filipino dishes especially on Sundays for family day.
For three decades now, Cabalen has proved its position as the standard of excellent Filipino cuisine. With its freshest ingredients and the most stringent quality control, Cabalen has kept its patrons coming back for more.
Cabalen, which literally translates to a fellow Capampangan, is a resto that remains true to its mission in bringing Filipino families closer together by offering functions where families could celebrate momentous occasions like no other.
Seen in the mirrored walls around this newest Cabalen branch that opened in Davao, are these paintings depicting how Filipinos love to celebrate and feast on food.
Apart from its appetizing food, Cabalen also offers export quality products called Filipina Deli that can also be availed in all store outlets.
