Calda Pizza @Gaisano Mall Davao
We discovered this new pizza place in Davao called Calda Pizza over the weekend. They say “size matters” and that they are “the home of the 36 inch pizza.”
Quattro Stagione (4 pizzas: Bolognese, Hawaiian, Etna and Calda)
We were initially thinking of trying out their 36 inch pizza but since there are only two of us, Charles and I decided on their 15-inch family size Quattro Stagione, a combination of 4 flavors of pizza as mentioned above. Hubby likes the tastes of Calda and Etna pizza. While I like the Etna most. I like its really cheesy taste!
Their 21 pizza flavors are: Margherita, Funghi, Etna, Hawaiian, Capricciosa, Calzone, Vegetariani, Milanese, Succulenta, Bolognese, Filipiniana, Calda, Pepperoni, Carousela, Modena, Roma, Granchi, Napoletana, Veneto, Filetto, and Quattro Stagioni.
Here are the sizes of their pizza with boxes shown: Regular=10″, Family=15″ , XL=20″ and they also have the Super=30″ and XtraSuper=36″. Price ranges of their pizza are from P140 to P1,290.
Their place is just big enough. Though I wish they have more comfortable cushioned seats or if they can provide a sofa perhaps but this isn’t a coffee shop of course. I was just thinking about it as we ate our pizza and observed that most customers preferred the cushioned benches which are more comfy.
Here are some quick snapshots I took last Saturday when we first discovered Calda after we left Pizza Hut Gaisano Mall. We came back Sunday for a dinner date there with just hubby and me. It took them more than 15-20 minutes to serve the pizza we ordered but the staff are nice and accommodating. We will be back to try out their other pizza flavors or maybe have another cheesy Etna pizza.
They are open from 10AM to 12 midnight. According to their staff, their delivery will start next week. Just call 22-CALDA or (082) 222 2532. Calda Pizza Davao is located at Gaisano Mall Davao in between Mang Inasal and Pizza Hut.
love the pizza!!! and the cheese oh sooo yummy!!!!!
i love the pizza!!! its just perfect!! Simply love it!!! better than MAmma MArias! thats for sure!
ate here just last night. a lot of people were ordering the 36 inch pizza but since there were only three of us, we just ordered the family sized one.
we also found out they only had pizza in their menu, not much of a problem there since we did come to eat pizza.
upon talking to the different waitresses, we got some info like when the place started (May 16th), they still don’t deliver but tentative date is next week, we had to wait around 20min for the pizza, we would get to see how big the 36 inch pizza is since the other table had ordered it, etc.
the pizza came more than 20min but it was ok, it wasn’t that long a wait. it was thin crust (very thin), but lots of toppings, which is what I really liked. It wasn’t like other pizzas that only had very few toppings (mostly just the dough).
the prices are also very affordable. calda pizza is a very sharp contrast to the other newly opened pizza place (Mamma Maria’s).
I will definitely try to make an order of that 36 inch pizza for delivery in the next few weeks (very curious to see how they deliver it since I don’t think it will be practical to use a motorcycle to deliver something that big, maybe a multicab).
i ate here during midnight sale at the mall. The place was jam packed! i love the pizza!!! the taste is great! the service was good also! tho i would recomend more drinks to choose from. like shakes/smoothies But over all i love the pizza! better than The newly opened mama marias which i waited around 50mins for a single order of pizza! regular size!!! Such a bad experience at Mama marias!
but Calda is GREAT!! gotta try more flavors
i tried calda na! and i love the taste! the service is okay! how i wish they serve more foods not just pizza but i cant blame them because pizza is their main line. we ordered the 30 inch and we were not able to finish it not because it ddoes not taste good but it is because it was sooooo big for 4 people! hehehe
great! may calda pizza na sa davao…i was supposed to have a pizza date with a friend at calda pizza here in gensan but it was cancelled because i’ll be attending my bf’s brother’s wedding on sunday..kaya pag-uwi from tagum na lng kami kakain, soooo love calda pizza (and yes, i must agree, tastes much better than mamma maria’s)….
zzz… great i love calda pizza..
you saw it thin but when you finished eating zzzzzz sasabihin mong busog na busog ka as innnnnnnnnn…. yummy….
we just ordered a Quattro Stagione 36 inches pizza have it delivered right at our office’s doorstep.
While waiting for the order, I came to wonder how would they deliver a very large pizza? Will they still use a motorcycle or hire a taxi or ride a jeep or just walk. I imagined so many things. But one thing’s for sure, I will get the answer when the delivery boy arrives.
DINGDONG… the delivery boy is at our door. What’s funny is that width of our door is smaller than the pizza. So the delivery boy must twist his body together with the box so he can enter 🙂 what’s even funny is that our office is at the 6th floor. So you have to take the elevator to go up. It must be a funny scene inside the elveator 🙂 And you can really see that the delivery boy really had a hard time since he was perspiring and was grasping for air. (poor boy so i just gave him a tip). And mu ultimate question to Kuya “Paano mo dineliver yan” kuya’s answer “nag motor” my reaction “WHAAATTTT???” i could not imagine how 🙂
Anyways, back to the pizza, when we opened it, it was not on its perfect shape. But it’s okay, we understand, after all the delivery boy went through…What matters most is…. the pizza was yum2x. 1290 pesos is cheap for a 36 inches pizza. And we were all very full! Imagine, 6 people eating a 36 incches pizza! We can still have pizza for dinner 🙂
To summarize my first Clada experience, I had a great time with Calda. TASTE, DELIVERY TIME, PRICE two thumbs up 🙂
me and my friends ate at Calda last week. The pizza was yummy. i can’t compare it with mamma maria’s though since i haven’t tried the later yet.
Calda pizza is on a level, a little below Spirale, which is logical since spirale’s pizza are more expensive.
But i will definitely recommend Calda, the pizza taste good, the staff are friendly, and the price is affordable.. I will definitely be coming back, and back, and back, and back…
I’ve tried it … Calda is great … Great post … 🙂
hi!gud pm!!can i ask how much will be the capital to franchise calda pizza?i would like to know bout it coz im interested to put a franchise store of calda among davao city pa rin,can you pls.giv me an info.tnx!
the first time i dined at calda,it was with my friends and we ordered 2 pizza(family size) of different flavors. forgive my memory but i could not remember what the flavors were,i liked it ,though i’m not much of a fan of thin crusts but for the size of the pizza,it’s affordable. So I recommended it to my Aunt who came here for a vacation so that we could eat more for our money than spend it in a more expensive resto and get little slices only. We ordered family size of CALDA since that was what the waiter said to be their specialty. But the pizza given to us had a bad smell, according to my Aunt it could be that the beef has been out from the freezer too long and now it smells. She did’nt like the pizza and she got frustrated (since it was her who paid for the meal). I felt bad cause it was’nt just fine when i first tried it there. And also she did’nt like the service. She was expecting fine dining service like in Pizza Hut and Coco’s.
We have not been to Calda for quite sometime. I hope you were able to give a feedback or comment to the management regarding the pizza during your visit with your aunt. That way they’d know of your experience and it won’t happen again. Sorry to hear about your aunt’s experience during her visit there.
well we can never compare calda to pizza hut or cocos because just the price od the pizza is so far from each other. FINE dining? hehehe good luck with that… there is no fine dining hahaha if its fine dining the price would defintly go up… which most of us dont like… but as for the meat thats not good…
I am not fond of pizza but I found Calda in good taste. But when you make deliveries in Calda, make sure you to advance it 1hr before you want to arrive it at your home, or else your guest will suffer, from hunger. walang makain, sobrang late sila magdeliver.
We like calda pizza we tried their 36″ pizza. taste great for us the whole enjoy it so much….
search nyo sa Facebook search honed buttons
just imagine dinala pa namin sa digos city. from taxi to bus… how we managed it? try nyo na lang… hahhaha
Calda pizza was great! Yummy taste, cheap price, huge size … ^_________^. alternative ng piccobelo .
The first time we ate at Calda was last year around July 2010. I was with my mom, siblings, my son, niece and 2 yaya. 7 kaming lahat, so we ordered Quattro Stagione 36″ pizza. Since there were too many people at that time (it was a Saturday) my sister and I decided to stroll for a while. Unfortunately, when we came back, the pizza was already there and the pizza was already half-eaten by my mom and yayas . When we started eating it was a little cold already. D na namin nalasahan ung sarap. When we got home, my son (5yrs.old) had a bad tummy from the cold pizza. He vomited the pizza he ate. Kawawa naman. My niece also had the same experience from the cold pizza, lalu na dun sa Hawaiian na kasali sa Quattro Stagione. Point being–wait for ur pizza to be served and eat it while it’s still hot..
But I still go there once in a while. Okay din kasi talaga sya, it’s very cheap at masarap kapag mainit.
i love Calda pizza…i prefer this than those branded pizza!!!!!!
sarap ang pizza but problema sa employee kasi medyo may pgka bastos! calda pizza@ mts
Yummmy!
