Manzoku means satisfaction in Japanese.

It sparked an interest in me when I found a new Japanese restaurant called Manzoku already open at the alfresco area of the newly opened mall of Felcris Centrale in front of LTO in Quimpo Boulevard in Davao City.

Wanting to try something new, I somehow planned to bring my boys back to Centrale this evening since I was alone this afternoon when I went around the new place in the city while my little guy was still at school and hubby was still at work.

Curious about this new place, it was not hard to convince the husband to try it out since our other choice there was Mandarin where we have been to so many times before in their other branches I mean. So we gave this new resto a try.

I asked the hubby if we can have yakisoba since I have been craving for a delicious noodle dish the past couple of weeks. We have not gone back near Pansititoy so maybe my craving for pancit or noodles may be satisfied with this one. This yakisoba did satisfy that craving.

The best part of this quick dinner at Manzoku before rushing to our grocery errand before Centrale closes perhaps is this ramen.

These days, I often think what is a visit to a Japanese resto if you don’t try their ramen. I and the hubby both loved this one. Since he likes beef and I love curry so when we decided for the ramen, we ended up going for this one. We didn’t regret it. We loved it! We’re no ramen experts but we enjoyed the ramen experience here better than the last one we tried in another new ramen place in town. In fairness though, that other one we tried there was not curry ramen. The curry ingredient made a significant difference. But then there in that place we definitely loved their crepe dessert! You should try this ramen of Manzoku, and that particular crepe dessert there in that other place. I think you will be able to guess what place I am referring to when you have eaten that kind of dessert. We are still going back to both places when the opportunity to do so comes to try more of their dishes.

Before we left, I asked the head waiter who first offered us their service tea which is corn tea.

20150218_201746It reminded me of the tea I tried long before in Bulgogi Brothers in SM Lanang Premier. Corn tea is said to be good for those who have high blood pressure, diabetes and those with kidney problems.

They were busy and the resto was full that night with some customers almost having to dine out in the al fresco area during dinner time. They forgot about the tea they offered that I wanted to try. So even if we have billed out already, I still accepted the tea to try it out of curiosity. We were not able to finish it but was glad to have tried it as we had to rush to the Superstore for our grocery errand before the mall closes for the night.

By the way, the restaurant operations manager said that Manzoku is owned by Felcris Centrale in partnership with Tadakuma Japanese resto in Davao. Having not been to Tadakuma since, learned afterwards from some friends that they loved Tadakuma. Maybe that will be put on our list as well.

What do you like in Manzoku that you can recommend to us on our next visit there?
