One very delicious merienda stopover during our Sooo Pinoy food trip in Davao was at Pansititoy!
Pansit Malabon – As the owner mentioned that they source their ingredients from Malabon… it was also really delicious! Now I know where to order Pansit Malabon here in the city for our family gatherings in the future. I’d really want to let my sisters try their Pansit Malabon.
Crispy Pata was to die for! It was so crispy and delicious… truly crispylicious! I wish every crispy pata I would order from now on is as crispy and delicious as the one they served us during our visit.
Batchoy which was really delicious. I loved it considering I am not much into Batchoy and I have a very picky taste when it comes to Bathcoy around town. I will consider theirs as one of the best Batchoy I have ever tasted so far here in Davao.
I love the taste of all the food they served for our delicious merienda as they tasted just as I would love them and prefer their to be. I’d be craving for their Pansit Malabon and crispy pata for sure after this. Promise!
Pansititoy had four branches around Davao… they are in Bajada, Catalunan Grande, Cabantian and this one in Quimpo Ecoland just in front of Trust Home Depot (former location of the Task Force Davao HQ).

The second day of the Sooo Pinoy food trip in Davao City started off at Probinsya Buffet Restaurant which is actually a personal fave of mine as well as of my boys when it comes to Filipino buffet restaurant which is known in the city for serving affordable Filipino breakfast buffet.
I have been looking forward to this visit to the resto as part of the “eatinerary” as some would call it. This resto is a fave when it comes to buffet breakfast.
They served us their delicious assorted kakanin or Filipino native delicacies like the cassava rolls with macapuno (I am a huge fan now of macapuno, a fave of mine… yummy!) and the palitaw with grated coconut and sugar.
Also puto cheese (rice cake made from galapong or rice flour topped with cheese) which is one of Filipinos’ fave for merienda or snacks, and the suman which is a popular Filipino dessert or merienda too made of glutinous or sticky rice cooked in coconut milk and wrapped in banana leaves. Growing up, a trip to the market with my mom would usually end with us buying these popular Filipino food for dessert or merienda on Sundays which is family day for most Filipinos.
Not to forget the puto bumbong which is a delicious rice cake served with muscovado sugar and fresh, grated coconut.
We are both pizza lovers so once in awhile we would go out for pizza. Months ago my former office mate Christian asked me if I have tried this pizza place in Obrero called Boyd’s. Of course not and I have not heard before pf Boyd’s Pizza House The Garlic Bread House. I was then not sure if I wanna try the place out though they were said to serve pizza. So more than a month after that, on the evening of my birthday actually, H and I decided to try out the place. Oh my when we got there it was closed as it was Sunday evening. We were quite disappointed since we wanted to were really up to eating pizza then. So we went to another place instead. But after more than a week, we went back this time on a Tuesday evening and before that we called the place to make sure they are really open.
We have been there thrice already counting the first time on a Sunday when they are closed. The photo above was taken last Saturday when we were up for a late lunch and craving for pizza. While this one below was taken during our second visit but first time to actually eat. The place is just casual not really fancy and more of homey atmosphere. They opened in Davao July 2007. So they already celebrated their first year anniversary.
But I have to say their food is delicious! More like home made pizza! Our fave and the pizza recommended by the waiter the first we went there was their Meaty Jeff Special. Fir time we ordered double size with eight (8) slices but the second time we ordered just the solo with six (6) slices coz we think it is too much for us the first time around. They have other choices for pizza like Pepperoni and Cheese, Beef & Mushroom, Johan’s Special, Vegies-Vegies, Smoked Ham & Onion, Tropical Delight, and Italian Sausage.
Then we ordered as usual their Isaac’s Pasta (since they do not serve my fave carbonara) which is penne in white sauce and roasted chicken and mushroom. But then I noticed there is no roasted chicken in it. But it is delicious! I’m not a garlic bread lover but I ate their garlic bread in a snap lol! Just kidding but it is also yummy!

Last weekend, H tried their Jed’s Juicy Burger with Cheese (P99). It was delicious and juicy indeed! Taste like our all-time fave Space cheese burger. Aha! Another addition to our fave in Boyd’s!
Then for Garlic Bread lovers they have Garlic Loaf Bread at P65. The last time we were there it was at P60.
